Groups are welcome at Markenfield throughout the year – except on the afternoons when the Hall is open to the general public. This is to ensure that your group will be undisturbed by other visitors and your party will be the only visitors to that Hall at that time.

GUIDED TOUR OF THE COURTYARD AND HOUSE

The tour of the courtyard and house lasts approximately 1 and a half hours, and thus can be fitted successfully into a larger itinerary which could include Fountains Abbey, Ripon Cathedral or Norton Conyers - all of which Markenfield has been closely associated with for centuries.

The Hall can take “a coach-full” of visitors, but groups of over 35 will generally be split into two and shown around by two guides.

The fee for a guided tour is £5 per person (no concessions) with a minimum charge per group of £80. Whilst the minimum fee – at £5 per person – divides down into a 15 member group, smaller groups are always more than welcome and the fee divided equally.

Refreshments are not available at the Hall; however there are a number of places nearby that we are happy to recommend, and that are more than happy to take groups.

All groups will be greeted by the two black swans that patrol the moat.
