Service of Blessing

Markenfield is uniquely placed in having a beautiful Mediaeval Chapel at its heart.

The Chapel of St Michael the Archangel is available for couples who wish to hold a Service of Blessing following their Civil Ceremony.

A Service of Blessing (or Dedication) allows a couple who have chosen not to marry in a Church, but who still have a desire to link their marriage commitment to their commitment to their faith, to do so in a beautiful and historical Chapel within the Hall itself.

Both Catholic and Anglican services are regularly held in the Chapel, and a Blessing in either faith can be arranged. Should you wish to bring your own Celebrant they would be more than welcome.

The Chapel does not have an organ for music, however live musicians can be accommodated or a CD can be played.

It is unusual for hymns to be sung during a Service of Blessing, however readings can be included as can special prayers that you may wish to request.
