The Friends of Markenfield (Parish, Park & Hall) Ltd

The Holy Books. Funding for their restoration, and that of their case, was secured by The Friends.

The Friends of Markenfield was set up in 2007 to bring together the diverse group of people who have a shared love of the Hall – from our Volunteer Stewards to people who have visited once and then found themselves returning year after year.

 Although initially intended to be set up as a charity,  issues with the Charities Commission forced consideration of alternative structures and The Friends of Markenfield (PP&H) Ltd was formally incorporated as a Company limited by Guarantee in June 2011. 

The Friends aim to promote study and research  to increase the understanding and enjoyment of the of the historic evironment as well as to promote for the benefit of the public the conservation, protection and enhancement of the natural and built heritage of Markenfield Parish, Park and  Hall.  There are opportunities for Friends to volunteer to help with various projects.

Events are arranged at the Hall, for which Friends have the advantage of priority booking and discounted tickets.  Lectures and musical events are usually held in the beautiful setting of the Great Hall, enabling the audience to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere as well as the entertainment.
