The Undercroft

The Undercroft is the first room that you enter from the Courtyard, and was the original kitchen of the medieval house. It is a welcoming room with a roaring wood fire in the cast iron range throughout most of the year.

The Undercroft is licensed for Civil Ceremonies. It is available as a room in which to hold the Wedding
Breakfast or (as it is the first room that your guests will enter) it is ideal for welcoming drinks on

arrival and celebratory drinks after the Civil Ceremony before you lead your guests outside to the gardens and the Orchard for photographs. Your guests are more than welcome to take drinks out in to the Orchard on their arrival should you and they wish.

 

For either the Civil Ceremony or the Wedding Breakfast the Undercroft can seat up to 35 guests.
