Rarely open to the public until 2001, this year the Hall can be visited by the public on just 28 afternoons - or as part of an organised group at almost any other time.

2012 Opening

Every day from 6th to 19th May and 17th to 30th June.

Times - 2pm - 5pm (last entry 4.30pm).

Entrance includes - access to the Inner Courtyard, Undercroft, Great Hall, Chapel, Four Poster Bedroom and Moat Walk.

Charge - £4 per adult and £3 for children / concessions

From 2006 the public will be able to see the Four Poster Bedroom. Formerly the main portion of the Solar.

Guided tours do not operate at Markenfield during the Halls 28 afternoons of opening. Visitors are welcome to arrive from 2pm and tour the Hall at their own leisure. There is an information sheet in each room which outlines the history of the room and what to look for. There is also a volunteer steward in each room – please feel free to ask as many questions of them as you wish.

Mop-up Mondays

Did you miss the Hall's Open Days in 2011? Worried you will miss them in 2012? Then come along to one of our Mop-up days and join a guided tour to learn all about the history of the Hall, the Family and the ongoing work on the Estate.
5th March and 2nd April at 11am each day. Places are limited and booking is essential.
Further dates in September, October and November will be confirmed shortly.

Behind the Scenes with Ian Curteis

A rare chance to see behind the scenes at Markenfield and be shown around by Ian Curteis, with the opportunity to see areas of the house not normally open to the public. The tour will conclude with drinks at the side of the moat and the chance to ask questions of the Hall's Owners.
