Your Day
Whilst there is not a fixed package for weddings at Markenfield, we are more than happy to suggest ideas and to advise on what works best. Here are some suggestions…
The Preparation
Changing at the Hall allows the Bride to take a few moments for herself at the beginning of an otherwise hectic day. There will be no need to worry about arriving late – or bumping in to the Groom before the Ceremony. We can even arrange for the Registrars to come and speak to you here. |

You are more than welcome to ask your hairdresser and beautician to the Hall before the Ceremony. Do not worry if you want a wedding car, your departure is just as important and as photogenic as your arrival and car companies will be more than happy to take you from the Hall. |

Welcome drinksWhilst the Bride is busy getting changed in the Four Poster Bedroom, your guests could be enjoying a welcoming drink – and possibly a canapé - in the Undercroft and outside in the Orchard. Do not forget that tradition does not always have to be observed, and these days it is just as likely for both the Bride and Groom to welcome their guests on arrival. |

The Civil CeremonyOnce the Bride and Groom have spoken to the Registrars (either together or separately) the Civil Ceremony can begin. You can either follow tradition and Bride can make an entrance or you can lead your guests in to the Ceremony in the Drawing Room. Your guests will have the chance to take photographs during the signing of the Register. |

The Service of BlessingFollowing the Civil Ceremony and the signing of the register, you could lead your guests out of the Drawing Room and upstairs to the Chapel. Once at the Chapel you will be greeted by your Celebrant, before turning to greet your guests and accept their congratulations. Your guests will then take their seats before you both enter for the Service. |

Reception drinks
Once the Service of Blessing has finished, lead your guests back down to the Undercroft where you can be met with a glass of Champagne.

The staff of the Dusty Miller will ensure that drinks and canapés will be served to your guests (if required) wherever they are. This allows the photographer time with the Bride and Groom to capture some happy memories.
The Wedding BreakfastAt the arranged time, your guests would be asked to take their seats (in the Great Hall) for the Wedding Breakfast before being asked to welcome their Bride and Groom. |

You can cut the wedding cake after the meal – or before. Similarly, speeches do not have to be made at the end of the Wedding Breakfast. If you have an especially nervous Groom or Best Man you will want them to enjoy their day, and not spend all of the meal worrying about what they are going to say. Why not make things easier for them by starting with the speeches? |

The DepartureCome 6 o’ clock it is time to wind down your celebrations. However – no wedding is complete without confetti… |
